“Creative Quilts From Your Crayon Box”

First off, I love being a shop owner, there are so many incredibly fantastic aspects of my job and one of my favorite facets is having the freedom to explore the creativity within the industry that I love so much!

At least three (or more) times a year I enjoy the opportunity to attend workshops, lectures, classes and hands on demos hosted by the talented leaders within the industry. These are the authors, designers, lecturers and teaches who create this ever-changing market we all love so much. After I’ve explored these learning opportunities, I am able to return to my amazing staff and re-evaluate our goals so that we may continue to diversify our class schedule to meet the needs of the constantly evolving market.

Martingale Books is one of those companies that is continuously pushing the envelope and expanding creatively, always bringing new ideas to the table; do not hesitate to check out any of their collections from their very talented authors.

Linn Kygar is one of those brilliant authors, her book “Creative Quilts from your Crayon Box” covers a specialized technique called melt-n-blend meets fusible appliqué. Yes, it is time to have fun with an old favorite… CRAYONS! Using the new melt-n-blend technique created by Terri, you will be able to create dimension and bring your appliqué designs to life.

These pictures were taken at one of our hands on demo class with our very gifted teacher Cathy Martino. We ran a “blend’n’melt’  class on Tuesday, April 8th 2014, the photos below show our very artistic students, they did an outstanding job!!
